ROSE QUARTZ - STONE OF LOVE & HEART HEALING

Rose quartz also known as the Heart Stone, connects directly to the heart chakra and symbolises love itself. It's frequently used to support healing of emotional wounds, emotional pain or trauma caused by heartbreak. It can help us to release fears and resentments, and open to love again.
Rose quartz acts as a beautiful heart-opener and encourages unconditional love, forgiveness and compassion for other people but also for yourself. This gem brings energy of joy, compassion and care, as well help us to attract more love into our lives (not only towards others but also for ourselves) and spread this divine loving energy throughout the entire aura.
Roots of this believes lie in Greek mythology and the goddess of love, lust and beauty, Aphrodite. The story tells that Ares, the Greek God of War and also Aphrodite's husband, was madly jelous of the God of Fertility, Adonis (who also happened to play role as Aphrodite’s lover). So in his jealousy, Ares turned himself into a wild boar, attacked Adonis and fatally wounded him. Aphrodite was so distressed that she ran to Adonis side and caught herself on a briar bush and drew blood. That blood blended with the blood of Adonis and fell onto some nearby quartz staining it a dusky pink signifying the symbolic hues of rose quartz. Zeus, seeing the sadness of this lost, took pity on the lovers and decided to bring back Adonis to Aphrodite for six months of every year. The blood colored quartz flourished into the beauty of the rose quartz and became a symbol of the love shared, lost and then reunited.
In egiptian mythology Isis was the Goddess of Life, a perfect wife and mother and incarnation of love and devotion. The tale said that Isis used the cleansing powers of rose quartz in her daily beauty routine. She took the rose quartz stones found in the river and cleansed her face with a circular, upward massage - as we use it in face massage rolls. She brought it a bit further though using tiny particles of rose quartz as a facial scrub with an anti-aging effect (so it's believed to be a stone of youth).
In ancient Rome Cupid, the Roman god of desire and affection, was said to give a rose quartz crystal stone to the Earth as a gift of love, passion, and joy for all.
Rose quartz is the birthstone for Taurus and Libra, as well secondary birthstone for January. Its ruling planet is Venus - planet of lust and desire. Rose quartz can be bring us what we desire: love, abundance, and wealth.
